Display shields
There are a variety of display shields available for the BBC micro:bit (version 2) that enhance its capabilities by providing a color display and additional buttons. The microbit slots into the shield using its edge connector. The display shields have a variety of uses:
- they can be used with MakeCode Arcade to create retro-style games
- the display shield extension for MakeCode for the micro:bit combines the micro:bit APIs with graphics functions for the display shield
- they can be used with MicroCode and MicroData applications to provide new ways to interact with your micro:bit
